What Pet Safety Radar tracks

Built around real pet safety decisions.

Not alarmist — practical. Know when to change the route, adjust timing, keep a cat inside, or secure a gate before something goes wrong.

Predator awareness

Coyotes, bears, large predators, raptors, and other animal hazards near pet activity areas.

Storms + high winds

Weather that may increase escape risk, reduce visibility, or make outdoor activity unsafe.

Heat + air quality

Conditions that make walks, pavement, or outdoor exposure unsafe for pets.

Fireworks + noise

Loud-noise events that can cause panic, bolting, hiding, or escape attempts.

Loose animals

Reports of aggressive or loose dogs and other local animal hazards in the area.

Missing pet activity

Nearby missing pet alerts that increase community awareness and can accelerate recovery.

Before you head out

Safer walk decisions start with local context.

Pet Safety Radar helps owners check nearby predator activity, weather risk, fireworks, loose animals, and missing pet activity before choosing a route, timing, or outdoor plan.

Community reports + trusted feeds

Local awareness you can actually use.

Similar in spirit to crowd-sourced road alerts — but built for the places people walk, hike, travel, and spend time with pets.

What neighbors are seeing

Community members contribute real-world reports that help nearby owners avoid risky timing, unsafe routes, or preventable escape situations.

  • Predator sightings near trails, parks, beaches, and wooded edges
  • Loose or aggressive animals that could affect dog walks or outdoor cats
  • Fireworks, loud noises, unsafe trail conditions, or local escape risks

What official sources are warning about

Pet Safety Radar also pulls in alerts from trusted public sources for a more complete picture before heading outside.

  • Thunderstorms, high winds, flooding, heat, and severe weather advisories
  • Public-safety notices where relevant and available
  • Environmental conditions that affect walking, hiking, or travel safety

Questions

A few things worth knowing.

Is Pet Safety Radar only for emergencies?

No. It is designed for daily decisions: safer walks and hikes, predator awareness, weather safety, fireworks planning, escape prevention, and general preparedness.

Are community reports verified?

Reports include location context, confidence signals, and timing, and are reviewed before going live. The goal is useful, accurate awareness — not unfiltered noise.

Does this replace animal control or emergency services?

No. Pet Safety Radar is an awareness layer. For urgent safety threats, contact the appropriate local authority or emergency service.

How does this connect to lost pet recovery?

Safety signals help owners and Finders understand hazards near search areas. Predator sighting data feeds directly into the LPRS Engine during active recovery missions.

How long do alerts stay active?

Most alerts decay automatically after 24–72 hours depending on type. Predator sightings typically stay active for 48 hours. Noise events clear after the relevant window passes.

Can I get alerts for my area automatically?

Yes. Registered users can enable Pet Safety Radar push notifications for their home area from within the TailTracker app.
